The Carjcanti of the Sicilian winery Gulfi is a white with a strong character, fresh and rich, produced in the south-east area of the island, at Chiaramonte. It was born from the grapes of Vigna Campo, grown in the territory of Val Canzeria, around 400-500 metres above the sea level. It is obtained from a vinification, in steel and wood, on top of which it is added a small percentage of Albanello, an ancient variety of white berry present between Siracusa and Ragusa. It expresses a good structure and complexity, with mature aromas that extends from citrus to aromatic herbs, from ripe to tropical fruits.
At the end of the harvest, the grapes are sent to fermentation with a short maceration of the skin, that is carried on in steel tanks, in barrique and tonneau. The wine ripes one year ahead of the bottling. It has a pale-yellow colour with golden hues. Long and fulfilling sips with a fresh and sapid ending. Peppe Cannistrà suggests to match it with the swordfish abbuttunato. For more information: tel +39 0932 921654, mail firstname.lastname@example.org
