The Design Festival has just been launched. The initiative has been devised by Roberto Semprini and curated by Valentina Fisichella, and will feature art installations, exhibitions, conferences, dinners, all activities focused on the theme “Baroque and Neo-Baroque – the spirit of our time”.
From the 24th to 26th September, there will be events at Palazzo Cosentini, in the Church of San Vincenzo Ferreri and at Donnafugata’s theatre.
Art installations are free to visit, and they will be open to the public for a month.
I Banchi will take part in the festival with a dish where there’s no “trick”, but instead it reveals a surprise: the central slice of the organic cauliflower from Calaforno, cooked at low temperature, is garnished with Etna hazelnuts and three sauces (an emulsion of Sallemi extra virgin olive oil; yellow pumpkin cream and basil coulis). The perfect pairing for this dish is the Vigna San Francesco 2015, an extraordinary Chardonnay from Tasca d’Almerita where hints of exotic fruit and vanilla stand out. Photo: Giuseppe Bornò.
